Every policy,one workflow.
An enterprise travel-management platform that turns varied travel policies into intelligent, configurable approval workflows for a 3,000-plus employee organisation.
Where the story starts.
A manufacturing organisation of more than 3,000 employees managed travel through manual, communication-driven processes. Travel is rarely simple: policies vary by designation, grade, department, location, travel purpose, destination, cost and approval authority. With hundreds of active users, the business needed travel to behave as a structured digital workflow rather than a chain of emails and phone calls.
Manual travel processes made approvals inconsistent and policies almost impossible to enforce.
The old way produced inconsistent approvals, difficulty enforcing policies, excessive back-and-forth communication, limited visibility and complex finance reconciliation. Exceptions demanded manual intervention and approvals were slow. The challenge was to encode complicated, attribute-driven travel policies into software without forcing the organisation to change its processes.
How the platform is wired.
The path a single request travels — each step an engineering decision.
The applications behind it.
Employee web application
Travel requests, itinerary, history, status, approvals and supporting information.
Mobile application
Lets employees and managers participate in travel workflows away from the desk.
Manager approval interface
Pending requests with employee and trip information, and approve or reject actions.
Finance interface
Visibility into approved travel and associated financial information.
Administration
Users, policies, grades, locations, approval workflows and reporting.
The hard problems we solved.
Not screens — the difficult, load-bearing engineering underneath.
Intelligent approval routing
A request moves through a workflow such as Employee → L1 Manager → L2 Manager → Finance → Travel Processing, generated per case.
Policy engine
Eligibility and travel policies driven by grade, location, travel type and category to determine permitted options and pathways.
Traceable overrides
Authorised users can override specific rules for legitimate business situations, with overrides remaining traceable for governance.
Attribute-driven journeys
Different approval journeys generated from employee attributes and organisational rules rather than a single fixed path.
Operational reporting
Operational and management reporting giving visibility across travel activity and approvals.
Architecture, not a logo wall.
What became possible.
Travel transformed from a communication-driven process into a structured digital workflow
Faster approvals with consistent policy enforcement
Better governance and end-to-end workflow visibility
Reduced manual coordination with mobile accessibility for employees and managers
The services this drew on.
What this demonstrates — CodeFacts can convert complicated enterprise policies into configurable software workflows, rather than forcing organisations to change their processes to fit rigid software.
