EDUCATION · CAMPUS

Campus life,governed and live.

A university-wide social and events platform where students, faculty and administrators create, approve, discover and participate in campus events — engagement and institutional governance side by side.

Client context

Where the story starts.

Universities organise a continuous stream of academic events, cultural activities, student programmes, club activities, competitions and faculty events. Communication around them becomes fragmented across notice boards, messaging groups and social networks. CodeFacts designed a campus-focused platform for creating, approving, discovering and participating in university events in one place.

The challenge

One platform, three very different stakeholders — students, faculty and administrators.

The platform had to serve three groups with different needs at once: students want ease of discovery and participation, faculty need governance over what is published, and administrators need visibility and control across the institution. Because the platform represents an institution, publication cannot operate like an unrestricted social network — content has to pass through controlled approval while still feeling live and engaging.

Architecture

How the platform is wired.

The path a single request travels — each step an engineering decision.

What we built

The applications behind it.

01

Student experience

Discover campus events, explore activities, participate, interact with approved university content, view rankings and leaderboards, and receive notifications.

02

Faculty workflow

Participate in content and event governance — review submissions, approve events, manage institutional activities and take part in moderation.

03

Administration platform

Manage users, events, templates, approval workflows, platform settings, leaderboards and content.

04

Event template system

Templates create consistency across university communications instead of designing event content repeatedly.

05

Approval & governance layer

Controlled workflows route content from Student or Organiser to Submission, Faculty Review, Approval and Publication.

Engineering challenges

The hard problems we solved.

Not screens — the difficult, load-bearing engineering underneath.

Governed publication

Routing content through controlled approval workflows so an institution's platform never behaves like an unrestricted social network.

Three-stakeholder design

Balancing student discovery, faculty governance and administrator control within a single platform.

Templated consistency

Event templates that keep university communications consistent rather than rebuilt for every event.

Engagement layer

Leaderboards and gamification that create an engagement layer around student activity and participation.

Simplified, controlled access

OTP-based authentication to simplify onboarding while maintaining controlled access.
