Client context

Where the story starts.

Enterprise audit teams often run on spreadsheets, emails, shared documents and manual follow-ups. As an organisation grows across departments, companies and organisational levels, this way of working becomes difficult to sustain. The business needed a unified platform covering multiple audit and compliance functions while maintaining common governance controls.

The challenge

Audit activity spanned departments, companies and levels — with no common place to govern it.

The platform had to manage audit activity across the organisation while supporting multiple modules under shared governance. That meant handling organisational complexity, audit assignments, users, teams, roles and workflows, alongside evidence, audit trails, reporting and activity tracking — without letting each audit programme drift into its own isolated application.

What we built

The applications behind it.

01

Organisation & user management

Multi-level organisational hierarchies with central user management as a shared layer.

02

Roles & permissions

Granular controls across view, create, update, approve, close and report.

03

Workflow engine

Audit activities pass through defined stages and stakeholders.

04

Notifications & activity logs

Assignments, pending actions, changes, approvals and escalations, with full traceability.

05

Dashboards & reports

Role-specific dashboards and reports tracking activity across the organisation.

Engineering challenges

The hard problems we solved.

Not screens — the difficult, load-bearing engineering underneath.

A common governance layer

Organisation, user, role and workflow services built once and shared across every audit function.

Reusable workflow services

A workflow engine moving audit activities through defined stages and stakeholders, reused across modules.

Traceability by design

Activity logs and audit trails making every action traceable for accountability and governance.

Modular audit modules

An architecture designed so multiple audit programmes share one foundation instead of becoming independent applications.
